"The doorman is called a gatekeeper. The bellhop, a sherpa. This is definitely not your run-of-the-mill hotel. It's all part of a master plan to entice a new breed of hotel guest. They even welcome your dog."

A flurry of bright colors and patterns decorate the
walls and floor.
Striped lime-green wallpaper hangs against a large, padded headboard with
blue and beige polka dots. A red armchair and a gold star pattern sits next
to a blue chaise lounge with fringe. The carpet is orange and beige in a jigsaw
puzzle pattern. And in a few rooms, old kitchenettes have been converted to
nooks for practicing yoga.
Guests will be greeted by desk clerks wearing burnt-orange tunics, and they
can get a "power shake" with wheat grass and gingko in the morning
at the 99-room property.

"Put me down as a very satisfied and happy customer.
I stayed at the Topaz from January 10 - the 14th and was treated extremely well.
From the moment I checked in until the morning I left, I was treated first class. I am a disabled veteran and all of your staff went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible.
Example, the ice machine was broken on my 6th floor and one of your staff came to my room, took my ice bucket to the 3rd floor, filled it and returned to my room. This kind of service is very rare and should be applauded.
Also, every one of your staff was extremely friendly and made me feel as though I was the only guest in the hotel.
From now on, when I am in DC, there is only one place for me to stay, THE TOPAZ.
.
Be sure to know that I will recommend your wonderful establishment to all my friends when they travel to Washington."

....The Topaz is fabulous!!! We had a great weekend (and my sister did too) and I was very impressed with my first Kimpton Hotel experience! The location was perfect for us. The room was large. I loved the dimmer in the bathroom. Everything was spotless. The bar was hopping (although you couldn’t hear any noise or music from our 4th floor room – great soundproofing). I liked the CD player and the cordless phone – very 21st century. The bag of stones on the bed at arrival was a cute touch. Most importantly, I will be proud to refer it to others!! - Allison D.....the Topaz hotel is the only hotel I will stay in when I visit DC (and I was staying at the Watergate for two nights before I moved over to you folks!). I'll tell everyone about you, actually I've already begun to sing your praises to folks. So are your ears burning? Thanks Whoi, and everyone on staff for a wonderful stay!

"The location of your property is ideal for an important business customer for several of my corporate travelers. I've been working with these people for 10+ years and was recently asked to reserve a room in this area.- Sarah A., Travel Manager, Cablelabs / Cain Travel Group, Inc.
