"Quick getaway"

A nice, well located, 'boutique' hotel, part of the Kimpton chain, right near Dupont Circle. Nestled on quiet N Street NW, just a few steps from Dupont Circle, the metro, and Scott circle, you could easily stroll past and miss it... if not for the gold lettering on the blue awning.

The staff was welcoming and thoughtful, they made ample use of my reservation and Kimpton information, despite just one other stay in their hotels, to make us welcome. Having just slipped away from the kids for a night in town, the staff made us feel very welcome.

This was my first time staying at the Topaz and because I'm a kimpton Inner Circle it was as if everyone knew me and welcomed me to this really cool place. The room I stayed in was huge and comfortable. The folks at the front desk called me several times to be sure I had everything and they were quick to let me know that because the hotel is in a great location with easy access to the the Metro, great restaurants, and stores all within walking distance. The breakfast was very good and what made my stay most memorable was everyone on staff who were helpful and went over and above to give me great service

We've stayed at the Topaz several times, and they get better each time. Everyone on their staff is fantastic, location is great, and hybrids park for free. Complimentary wine tasting, very nice continental breakfast, well appointed rooms, quiet street, etc., etc. This is the place to stay.

The facade is unassuming; the lobby small and unimpressive, the corridors clean and remodeled but look older. The room however was wonderful and the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Not sure if the corner room was better than others but I sure would recommend it. The sleeping area is well spacious; there is a sofa and additional seating, and an office area. Kimpton "funky-stylish" but very comfortable and well laid out. I would highly recommend.

Red and I checked into Topaz for a 3 night end of summer vacation. Just looking through their website is what got me hooked on the Kimpton brand five years ago - a quirky little boutique hotel with a focus on zen, tranquility, and self actualization. Seriously!

The staff are amazing - professional but not at all stuffy. I was challenged to a hula-hoop off by their general manager for an upgrade and even though I lost (due to a technical foul!), they still gave me an *amazing* room. I could probably fit three regular sized cookie cutter hotel's rooms in it. Everything was AMAZINGLY clean with attention to detail.

Overall, the attention to detail and genuine attitude everyone had was refreshing and appreciated. The hotel is in a great location near the business district and tourist attractions. I highly recommend it and will absolutely be staying there again.

My stay at the Topaz hotel was PHENOMENAL! The staff is incomparable to any that I've ever come across, and the red carpet is truly rolled out for visitors--the staff show guests their appreciation in myriad ways from hosting complimentary wine receptions to going above and beyond the call of duty

We spent Labor Day weekend at the Topaz. Everything was just wonderful. We will return ASAP. Not because of their location, which is excellent. Not because of the rooms, which were very very comfortable. But, because of the staff, who could not have been friendlier or more helpful.

This hotel was exceptional. The staff was helpful and the service was great. All of the staff was warm and friendly and went out of their way to offer recommendations.
